Erin currently works for the Minnesota Department of Corrections’ Victim Services & Restorative Justice Unit as a student worker. Her primary project is co-developing a 16-week Trauma Healing workshop curriculum in partnership with incarcerated individuals residing within one of the DOC’s facilities and Crixell Shell, a STAR trainer and Executive Director of the Minnesota Peacebuilding Leadership Institute. Erin has also partnered with Restorative Justice Specialists within the Unit to support program evaluation of a Restorative Justice mentor pilot program within a DOC facility and to support the state’s Apology Letter Bank through letter reviews and co-developing a presentation for incarcerated people to give to their peers about the apology letter process, in addition to other tasks.
Erin looks forward to further work opportunities in the context of severe harms that push back against conventional carceral responses to harm.
