In the News: ‘Brother’ Frank Albrecht ’80, MA ’01 remembered for ‘dedication, service, and care’

EMU alum Frank Albrecht '80, MA '01, a beloved educator for the School District of Lancaster (Pennsylvania), died from Lou Gehrig’s disease on Saturday, Aug. 24, at the age of 66. A memorial service for Albrecht was held on Monday, Aug. 26. In March, he was honored at the Pennsylvania State Capitol for his decades of selfless dedication to the students of the School District of Lancaster. In the News: Leymah Gbowee MA ’07 to receive $20M grant

Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Leymah Gbowee MA ’07, founder and president of Gbowee Peace Foundation Africa, has been selected by Melinda French Gates to receive a $20 million grant to support women’s health and well-being around the world. The Liberian peace activist, trained social worker and women’s rights advocate earned a master’s degree in conflict transformation from EMU’s Center for Justice and Peacebuilding (CJP).
