EMU’s baseball program has picked up a second straight D3baseball.com Team of the Week honoree, as centerfielder Griffin Stanley (Roanoke, Va./Cave Spring) was selected by the national platform.
Stanley reached base safely seven times in the Royals’ doubleheader on Saturday, triggering an offense which scored 28 runs in 14 at-bats. He batted 6-for-9 (.667) in the twinbill, scoring five runs with three RBIs and three stolen bases.
In the 9-inning nightcap against Juniata, Stanley went 4-for-5 with a walk, scoring four runs and getting all three of his stolen bases. He tied his career high for hits, runs and stolen bases in the game. The senior was also 2-4 in the opener, picking up 3 RBIs.

Fellow senior Kyle Mathews (Chesapeake, Va./Great Bridge) was named to the team last week.
Eastern Mennonite is off to a 3-1 start to the season, scoring nearly 10 runs per game. The Royals host Messiah this afternoon with a 2:30pm start, and welcome Penn State-Harrisburg for a doubleheader this Saturday.
