Students to Showcase Talents During “Spanish Night”

Eastern Mennonite University students taking Spanish classes are putting on a special program of music, dance, poetry, fables and fairy tales on Wednesday, Nov. 28, at 7 p.m. in the Discipleship Center.

“This is the second year we’ve hosted ‘Noche Bohemia’ or Spanish night, and hope to make it an annual tradition,” said Don Clymer, assistant professor in the language and literature department. “This event allows the students in our upper-level classes to showcase their skills.”

In addition to student participation, language assistants will be doing folkloric dances from their countries of origin – Colombia and Honduras – and the language professors will be singing and emceeing the event.

“The audience will be able to participate in singing a Spanish folksong at the beginning, and dancing salsa at the end of the program,” said Clymer.

Admission to the event is free.
