Pastoral Chaplaincy
Before entering the Conflict Transformation Program (CTP) of Eastern Mennonite University, my husband Earl and I spent 16 years relating to the programs and personnel of the Mennonite Central Committee in Southeast Asia. We moved to Harrisonburg in 1997 and I enrolled in the CTP’s Master’s in Conflict Transformation program.
Following my graduation in 1998, I accepted a leadership role with CJP’s Summer Peacebuilding Institute (SPI). Ten years later, at the conclusion of SPI’s 2008 session, I retired from my position as SPI director.
In 2009, I enrolled in a Clinical Pastoral Education program; I am currently working as a chaplain, providing spiritual care for people in hospitals, prisons and nursing homes. I have also just finished training to become a Hospice volunteer.
