Jonathan (Jon) E. Rudy is a self-employed consultant teaching peacebuilding, conflict transformation, nonviolence and human security. He specializes in program reviews of peace related programming. See PeaceBuildingGlobal.com

He is Senior Fellow for Human Security at the Alliance for Peacebuilding and a Senior Fellow at the Social Enterprise Service Group as a subject matter expert in peacebuilding. As a Fulbright Specialist, Jonathan resourced the Symbiosis School for Liberal Arts, Pune India, in their Peace and Conflict Studies program. He is on the roster of UNDP ExpRes preapproved consultants in conflict resolution and peacebuilding. He is a core member of the Global Partners for the Prevention of Armed Conflict (GPPAC) Working Group on Improving Practice.

For seven years he served as Peacemaker-in-Residence for Elizabethtown College where he taught Peace and Conflict Studies as well as resourced the college in peace related co-curricular offerings.

With more than more than thirty-five years of work in 30 countries in Asia and Africa, Jonathan has focused his efforts at peacebuilding and conflict transformation at community and middle-out leadership. His recent training energies have gone toward human security and civil society. He is an 18-year veteran facilitator at the Mindanao Peacebuilding Institute and works regularly in East Africa including University of Hargeisa, Somaliland. He has been on panels and given workshops at the Initiatives of Change Caux Forum-Just Governance for Human Security in Switzerland.

His African work experience includes the following countries: Botswana, Burkina Faso, Djibouti, Gambia, Kenya, Lesotho, Mozambique, Somalia, Somaliland, South Africa, South Sudan, Swaziland, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe. Jon’s Asian work experience includes the following countries: Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, East Timor, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Lao PDR, Myanmar (Burma), Nepal, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam.

He has also been invited to speak and/or facilitate workshops in: Afghanistan, Austria, Cambodia, Canada, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Lao PDR, Nepal, Netherlands, Philippines, Singapore, Somaliland, Switzerland, Thailand, The United States and Zimbabwe.

Jon has an MA in Religion with a Graduate Certificate in Conflict Transformation from Eastern Mennonite Seminary/University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. He earned a Teaching for Higher Education Certificate from Temple University and has a BA in International Development, an AA in Industrial Arts and Minor in Communications from Bethel College in North Newton, Kansas.
