Peacebuilding Consultant and Interfaith Minister
Since April 2011, Gary has been living in Vermont, developing his rural homestead while seeking new short-term peacebuilding consultant assignments. Working in Myanmar/Burma is of particular interest. Also, Gary is developing his interfaith ministry – primarily pastoral counselling, chaplaincy work with those in need, and officiating at weddings, baby blessings, and funerals/memorials.
From May 2010 to April 2011, Gary was a peacebuilding advisor for Mercy Corps in the Somali region of Ethiopia on a project to mainstream peacebuilding through education and address Somali inter-clan conflict between youth. In June 2011, Gary did consultant work for CARE in Uganda, evaluating their peacebuilding program there. And from Sept 2009 to June 2011, Gary was enrolled in One Spirit Interfaith Seminary, mainly as a distance learner. He took vows and was ordained in June 2011.
