Selena Sherzad has dedicated the past 8 years towards assisting and advocating for refugees and displaced persons across Greece, Lebanon, Turkey, and the United States, blending professional expertise with voluntary efforts to enact tangible change. Working within refugee resettlements, Selena learned how vital it was to commit to aiding vulnerable people caught in endless wars, natural disasters, political turmoil, and other emergency situations that cause many to leave their homes in pursuit of safety. Currently, Selena is part of the Policy and Advocacy team at Church World Service operating from Washington, DC, where she champions policies that safeguard human rights and support vulnerable communities, specifically on amplifying housing as a human right for all.
