School of Reconciliation for the Great Lakes Region

2010: I continue working with Le Rucher Ministries – Great Lakes Region. We are running reconciliation, community development and leadership training in Rwanda and the surrounding countries. We just recently received a report from Kenya where we were invited to hold reconciliation workshops two years ago. They estimate that over 50,000 people have now had the chance to hear a message of healing and reconciliation!

In January 2011 we will be running our first nine-week School of Reconciliation that would teach people how to help their communities through healing, forgiveness and reconciliation, to respond to conflict redemptively, and to build healthy communities and sustainable peace through cooperative development projects. The school of reconciliation will equip leaders to help their communities creatively meet the needs in ways that will build relationships, encourage interdependence, and promote peace.

February 2008: When Israel refused to renew my visa, it meant that my work with Musalaha ended. Now a new door has opened and I return to Africa.

Le Rucher Ministries (LRM) has invited me to join their team to start the School of Reconciliation for the Great Lakes Region. Based in Kigali, Rwanda, I will travel around the region and to Geneva a couple times a year.

The vision of the all-Rwandan LRM-Great Lakes Team is to start a School of Reconciliation that would teach people from all over the region how to help their communities through healing, forgiveness and reconciliation, to respond to conflict redemptively, and to build healthy communities and sustainable peace through cooperative development projects.

Many of these communities have needs that often result in tension and conflict. The school of reconciliation will equip leaders to help their communities creatively meet the needs in ways that will build relationships, encourage interdependence, and promote peace.

August 2008: Our meetings in Burundi resulted is forming a partnership ministry through whom we will target three local communities with healing and reconciliation, community development and member care. This ministry is lead by an energetic and well respected man who is eager to help us bring lasting transformation and development in his country.
