  1. Tara Kishbaugh: Common Read

                                                        i.     Tara: Intellectual life does a common read for the whole campus. There are 3-4 events related to the book per semester. Next years book possibility is searching for Zion. Provost offices is going to by 300ish copies. The author is considering coming to EMU but has a $3,500 fee. Possibly cosponsoring with SGA.

                                                      ii.     Becca L.: I think it helps to have a theme for the year.

                                                     iii.     Tara: Many of the events are cohosted with other organizations.

                                                     iv.     Becca M.: Are there ways to make the book more available to students? What kind of money does intellectual life have for this?

                                                      v.     Tara: Provost office is doing at least $4,000 for books and another $1,000 to get her here.

  1. USO Funding Request: LSA, BSU, ISO, CAC

                                                        i.     Requesting $1,436 for food, t-shirts, and utensils.

                                                      ii.     Kat motions to give $386 to LSA, BSU, ISO, CAC for the People’s Dance. If the groups want money for the t-shirts they should come back with another funding request. Isaiah seconds.

              VII.     Open Floor

  1. Corpus Christi

                                                        i.     SGA should be involved in helping student discussion.

  1. Kat: the therapy dogs can come next week.
  2. Ryan: met with ISPC. Going over phones and system upgrades. They are trying to improve wifi, The help desk can be called out to help look at the wifi.
  3. Mario went to cross-cultural committee.
