Pianist Clement Acevedo, described as having “a biting rhythmic drive” by the Philippine Daily Inquirer, has performed in the United States, China, and the Philippines, in venues such as the Merkin Concert Hall (NYC) and the Cultural Center of the Philippines (Manila). He has appeared as a concerto soloist with the Metro Manila Concert Orchestra, the University of Santo Tomas Symphony Orchestra, and the James Madison Symphony Orchestra.
Clement won first in the 2004 National Music Competition for Young Artists (Philippines); this prize was last awarded in 1985. He was a semi-finalist in the 2009 Heida Hermanns International Piano Competition, and in 2014 he won the JMU Concerto Competition performing the Ravel Concerto for the Left Hand. He has studied with Gabriel Dobner, Igor Resnianski, Carl Cranmer, and Harvey Wedeen. Learn more about Clement
