Financial Information

Fall and Spring Semester

Bluffton students pay all costs directly to Bluffton. This includes the deposit, tuition, room and board, the program fee, and the WCSC activity fee. The $2000 program fee is charged by Bluffton University for doing an off-campus cross-cultural.

Summer Term

Bluffton students pay all costs directly to Bluffton. The cost for the summer for Bluffton students is the same cost that EMU students pay.

Financial Aid

Students will continue to receive eligible financial aid just as you would if you were taking classes on Bluffton's campus. If you have already participated in a semester program through Bluffton, no institutional aid will be awarded. If you have questions regarding aid you may contact Bluffton's financial aid office at

Paying your deposit

  • Your $300 deposit holds your spot in the program and becomes non-refundable once WCSC staff start working on your internship placement 
  • You can make your deposit to the Bluffton Business Office by mail or in person

Ways to Defray Expenses

Workstudy: $900 available (except in summer) to EMU students. If you are from another university, check with your financial aid office.
Odd Jobs: WCSC can often pay students to help with gardening and house maintenance.
Bicycle: DC is one of the most bike-friendly cities, and we have 2 WCSC bikes. You are welcome to bring your own.
Leave Your Car: Save on a few months of car insurance/gas and take your car off the road.
Part-Time Work: Although discouraged, students may hold a part-time job while in WCSC.
Free Events: There are plenty of free things to do in DC!
