Admission requirements

- A minimum of 48 semester hours of transfer credits. (Can transfer up to 80 credits with approval) 

The following are options for obtaining the necessary transfer credits:

• Credit may be transferred from an accredited technical, community or four-year college or school.
• A portfolio of American Council on Education (ACE) approved professional schools or training may be submitted for semester hour credits. • College-level examination (CLEP) or DSST (formerly Defense Activity for Nontraditional Students or DANTES) testing is also an alternative to obtain course credits.  (Add to our CLEP LINK)

- A cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above.
- Current employment or involvement with an organization that enhances the learning outcomes of the program.
- Submission of a satisfactory writing sample.
- Our experienced enrollment counselor will work with you to develop an individualized academic plan for degree completion.

Admissions Requirements

1. Students should have successfully completed (B or better) at least some of the academically challenging coursework offered by their high school (i.e. AP courses).
2. The student’s high school advisor or, if home schooled, a parent or guardian must complete the Student Academic Eligibility Form. This form affirms that the student has demonstrated the intellectual ability and maturity to engage with and successfully complete a college level course.

• Complete a registration form. No application fee is required. All course placements are subject to seat availability. If a course is full you will be placed on a waiting list.
• When the student’s Student Academic Eligibility Form and registration form have been completed and submitted by the semester registration deadline, the high school student will be placed in an open section of a class. Students wishing to take more than one course are asked to wait until the drop/add period before enrolling in additional courses and will need to use our existing drop/add process.

Admission Requirements

1. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with at least a cumulative 3.0 gpa (based on 4.0). If this condition is not met, graduate gpa of six or more credits will be considered.
2. Evidence of one year of successful, licensed teaching in a public or private school setting, or evidence of one year of successful work with youth in a public or private school setting. Applicants who seek admission without meeting these criteria must provide a written explanation of their relevant experience and rationale for seeking admission.

3. Two academic recommendations on EMU provided forms: (a) building level administrator/supervisor and (b) someone qualified to speak to the applicant’s academic ability and potential.

Admission requirements

1. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
2. Applicants must provide documentation of having had two years of work experience with supervision or significant collaborative responsibilities.

• Two letters of reference from people who are in a position to judge your potential as a graduate student. At least one reference should come from an employer.

 Admission requirements

• An undergraduate degree with a GPA of at least 2.75 (on a four-point scale)
• Preference is given to those with at least two years of experience in mediation, community development or relief work, advocacy, restorative justice, working with traumatized populations or related areas. 
• Those who do not meet that criteria, but, have extensive experience in the peacebuilding field, are encouraged to apply; the applicant may be conditionally admitted.

• Persons applying to the MBA program must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• The MBA program requires applicants with a minimum of two years of work experience.
• Those MBA applicants who did not complete an undergraduate business major may need to take a series of prerequisite courses preparing them for the level of work in the program.

• Earned a Master of Science in Nursing from a CCNE or NLNAC accredited program with a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher
• Provide documentation of post-baccalaureate supervised practice hours from an accredited MSN program. If there are fewer than 400 supervised practice hours, the DNP program will be tailored to achieve the required 1,000 hours of post-baccalaureate supervised practice.
• Evidence of an unencumbered RN license in the state of practice
• Evidence of currency in nursing practice

  • nurse faculty member who has knowledge of the applicant’s academic ability;
  • a professional work-related colleague or supervisor;
  • if practicing as an APRN, at least one should be from an APRN;
  • if practicing as a nurse leader/executive, one should be from a supervisor who can address the applicant’s leadership abilities.
• Personal essay of 500 words or less that explains the applicant’s career goals related to pursuing the clinical doctorate. The essay addresses the applicant’s current thoughts on their preferred focus for the evidenced-based scholarly project.
• Current resume or curriculum vitae
• Interview with program co-director via video conference

Admission requirements

MA in Education and Graduate Certificate admission is based on:

• Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution with a minimal undergraduate grade point average of at least 3.0 (based on 4.0). (If this condition is not met, graduate GPA of six or more credits will be considered.)
• A teaching or specialist license (Not required) 
• A personal interview with the associate director of the Graduate Teacher Education program.

Admission into the program is granted by the teacher education admissions committee. Upon admission into the program, each student will be assigned an academic advisor. Students unable to meet the requirements for regular admission may be recommended for conditional admission
