SUBJECT: Campus Information Session: Southeast campus quadrant as it relates to Suter Science Center renovation exterior site planning
Students and employees are invited to an information session and conversation about exterior site planning for the Suter Science Center renovation and the impact on the southeast quadrant of campus.
WHEN: Wednesday, Jan. 22, 3 to 5 p.m. (drop in any time; a 20-minute presentation will begin at 3:15)
WHERE: Common Grounds (snacks!)
HOSTED BY: Blue Ridge Architects and Suter Science Center renovation planning team
WHO IS INVITED: EMU employees and students, representatives from Park View area businesses, Harrisonburg City Council members.
GOAL: The goal of this open meeting is to share preliminary planning ideas about the following items and to gather EMU employee and student responses.
Topics to be presented will include:
- Landscaping and grounds around Suter Science building
- Sustainable design for storm water management and parking
- Pedestrian, bike, vehicle and public transportation integration
- Mount Clinton Pike entrance to campus
Poster areas will be available for review and conversation. Individuals will have the opportunity to speak personally with architects and EMU planners and builders.
Participants will be welcome to share feedback at the meeting in person, in written form and online at the Suter Science Center renovation blog.
