The first four will be free and I will be hosting most of them. More information is available from this website:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.emu.edu\/cjp\/restorative-justice\/webinar-series\/\">https:\/\/www.emu.edu\/cjp\/restorative-justice\/webinar-series\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here is the <a href=\"http:\/\/emu.edu\/cjp\/restorative-justice\/webinar-series\/#recorded\">link<\/a> to watch the recorded version of the first webinar.<\/p>\n<p>Starting in January we will also be offering two on-line courses. \u00a0Prof. Carl Stauffer will offer a short course in January &amp; February on transitional justice. \u00a0I will offer one entitled &#8220;Conversations on restorative justice: \u00a0critical issues&#8221; starting in February and ending in late April or early May. \u00a0Watch <a href=\"http:\/\/www.emu.edu\/cjp\">our website<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NOTE: \u00a0THE CAPACITY FOR THESE WEBINARS HAS BEEN EXPANDED SO IF YOU TRIED TO REGISTER AND COULD NOT, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO SHORTLY.\u00a0<\/strong>Note posted 8\/18.<\/p>\n<p>Several <strong>recent books<\/strong> address restorative justice in some way:<\/p>\n<p>Biblical scholar and restorative justice practitioner Chris Marshall has published <em>Compassionate Justice: An Interdisciplinary Dialogue with Two Gospel Parables on Law, Crime, and Restorative Justice<\/em> (Cascade books). As I say in my endorsement of it, &#8220;His blend of biblical scholarship and contemporary insights from the social sciences and humanities will be of interest not only to Christians but to others concerned about justice in today&#8217;s world.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Drawing in part on restorative justice, Albert W. Dzur argues for a partnership of professionals and citizens through an expanded role for juries in\u00a0<em>Punishment, Participatory Democracy, &amp; the Jury<\/em> (Oxford UP).<\/p>\n<p>A Spanish version of my early book, <em>Changing Lenses: \u00a0A New Focus for Crime and Justice<\/em> (Herald Press) was just released this week.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, the next book in the\u00a0<em>Little Books of Justice and Peacebuilding<\/em>, due out this spring, is David Karp&#8217;s\u00a0<em>The Little Book of Restorative Justice for Colleges and Universities<\/em> (Good Books).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I realize that a new blog entry is overdue, and that the following does not get me off the hook, but here is an announcement.
