WPRJ drafted basic principles on restorative justice adopted by UN Economic and Social Council.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Jantzi, professor emeritus of sociology, now works for Strategies for Trauma Awareness and Resilience (STAR).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/is\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/51\/2013\/12\/IMG_7657_opt.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" PhD<\/strong>\u00a0<b><br \/>\n<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Assistant professor of justice studies and co-director of EMU\u2019s Zehr Institute for Restorative Justice<\/li>\n<li>As regional peace adviser in Southern Africa for Mennonite Central Committee, 2000-09, Stauffer was associated with peace accords, community-police forums, truth and reconciliation initiatives, and local community development structures, often interacting with UN agencies involved with post-conflict stability.<\/li>\n<li>The UN Secretary General\u2019s 2004 Report on The Rule of Law and Transitional Justice in Conflict and Post-conflict Societies defines transitional justice as \u201cthe full range of processes and mechanisms associated with a society\u2019s attempts to come to terms with a legacy of large-scale past abuses, in order to ensure accountability, serve justice and achieve reconciliation.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Stauffer elaborated on this theme in his \u201cRestorative Interventions for Postwar Nations,\u201d a chapter published in <em>Restorative Justice Today \u2013 Practical Applications<\/em> (Sage Publications, 2012).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/is\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/51\/2013\/12\/IMG_6098_opt.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-6080 alignright\" There were civil society groups in existence in the communities where this project was working. But the UNDP didn\u2019t work directly with these groups.
