A graduate from Eastern Mennonite University with a Master\u2019s in Conflict Transformation, Mr. Salim has vast experience in trauma healing and resilience, healing circle processes, women and youth empowerment, human rights, and culturally sensitive programming. He is passionate about examining sociopolitical experiences\/systems and fostering community development policy practice with a trauma-informed framework.<\/p>\n<p>In his current role,Mr. Salim oversees AAFSC\u2019s Anti-Violence Program,which serves immigrant communities throughout New York City through culturally responsive direct services and advocacy in partnership with the Mayor\u2019s Office to End Domestic and Gender Based Violence &#8211; Family Justice Centers,while confronting cultural issues, including gender narratives, intimate partner violence and sexual assault.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to joining AAFSC, Mr. Salim worked at several national and international organizations including Non-Violent Peace-Force and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
