{"id":3785,"date":"2011-05-09T14:37:57","date_gmt":"2011-05-09T18:37:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/peacebuilder\/?post_type=cjp_alumni&#038;p=3785"},"modified":"2017-07-10T16:14:06","modified_gmt":"2017-07-10T20:14:06","slug":"judy-clarke","status":"publish","type":"cjp_alumni","link":"https:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/peacebuilder\/cjp-alumni\/judy-clarke\/","title":{"rendered":"Judy Clarke"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Judith Tolleson Clarke, MA, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vcrj.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Virginia Center for Restorative Justice<\/a>\u00a0(VCRJ) Executive Director,\u00a0<\/b>completed her MA in Conflict Transformation with a concentration in Restorative Justice at Eastern Mennonite University in 2011. Under a three year grant from the US Department of Labor and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, Judy provided restorative justice training and technical assistance in 10 different high poverty, high crime areas located throughout the US. Judy teaches a class titled \u201cAn Introduction to Restorative Justice\u201d which is certified by the Office of the Executive Secretary of the Virginia Supreme Court for 8 hours of Continuing Mediation Credit.\u00a0 She established a restorative justice diversion program for the Richmond City and Henrico County Juvenile Court Service Units which is implemented by volunteer Restorative Justice Facilitators.\u00a0 At the end of their first year, these volunteers diverted approximately 50 plus cases with an 87% success rate.\u00a0 A former\u00a0special education teacher, Judy wrote a values-based, restorative justice curriculum, \u201cHow to Handle Conflict\u201d and taught it to over three thousand male and female inmates.\u00a0 She also wrote and implemented a successful, 10 week restorative justice curriculum titled \u201cGame Changers\u201d which included an introduction to mindfulness to third graders in an after-school program in a Henrico County Public School.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":3786,"template":"","regions":[780],"fields-of-practice":[767],"degree":[760],"grad-year":[1165],"class_list":["post-3785","cjp_alumni","type-cjp_alumni","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","regions-usa","fields-of-practice-restorative-justice-3","degree-ma_ct","grad-year-1165"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/peacebuilder\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/cjp_alumni\/3785","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/peacebuilder\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/cjp_alumni"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/peacebuilder\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/cjp_alumni"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/peacebuilder\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/3786"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/peacebuilder\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=3785"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"regions","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/peacebuilder\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/regions?post=3785"},{"taxonomy":"fields-of-practice","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/peacebuilder\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/fields-of-practice?post=3785"},{"taxonomy":"degree","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/peacebuilder\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/degree?post=3785"},{"taxonomy":"grad-year","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/peacebuilder\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/grad-year?post=3785"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
