Gaskins, she\/they, is a Justice &amp; Peacebuilding Practitioner working at the intersection of conflict transformation and urban sustainability. Rooted in a background in theater, she brings an attunement to narrative \u2014 the meaning underneath a story and the values embedded in what people choose to share \u2014 into how she facilitates dialogue. She completed her graduate practicum through CJP at Silver Run Forest Farm and Food Tapestries, supervised by Jonathan McRay and Kristi Van Sickle, where she led fundraising strategy, co-produced the farm&#8217;s first annual Harvest Festival, and developed a food sovereignty curriculum that has since become the foundation for a broader agroecology school, currently in development. She first participated in STAR I in 2018 and returned in January 2026 as a teaching assistant and co-facilitator \u2014 a full-circle arc from participant to practitioner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jamila co-taught &#8220;Decolonial Possibilities in Art and Peacebuilding&#8221; at CJP&#8217;s 2026 Summer Peacebuilding Institute alongside Paula Ditzel Facci, and co-taught Analysis: Understanding Conflict in summer 2025. Her relationship with Dr. Kathy Evans, Professor of Teacher Education and Program Director of EMU&#8217;s Education program, led to two things: an invitation to deliver the 2026 Restorative Justice in Education Conference keynote, &#8220;What We Left Behind&#8221; (June 23\u201324, 2026), and their current collaboration co-authoring a book on restorative justice in education alongside LaToya Fernandez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her CJP training grounds an original framework, &#8220;Being Who We Say We Are&#8221; \u2014 a values-based conflict transformation process for organizations \u2014 and continues to shape her consulting, facilitation, and coaching practice through JK Gaskins Group and Infinity Consultation Group.
