Members of the Eastern Mennonite University women’s basketball team pass through a "tunnel of applause" as part of a recognition and sendoff at the close of a chapel service Mar. 10. The team will leave campus Mar. 11 to compete in the NCAA Division III national tournament at the University of
Wisconsin at Stevens Point. <\/p>\n

The Lady Royals are scheduled to play Hardin-Simmons University of Abilene, Tex., Mar. 12. EMU advanced to the "sweet sixteen" round on Mar. 6 by edging Christopher Newport University, 63-62, with a basket at the buzzer by sophomore guard\/forward Laura Ludholtz. It is the first time an EMU women’s basketball team has advanced to the NCAA nationals. The NCAA final four championship will be played Mar. 19-20 at Virginia Wesleyan College, Virginia Beach. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
