This semester\u2019s Suter Science Seminar lineup<\/a> at Eastern Mennonite University (EMU) includes three biologists, a psychologist, and a registered nurse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The events will be held in Swartzendruber Hall of the Suter Science Center, and will be live streamed for the off-campus community on the EMU Facebook page<\/a>. [You do not need to be a member of Facebook to view the livestream.]<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wednesday, Jan. 25, 4 p.m. \u2014 \u201cMultiple Roles for UNC-53\/NAV2 in Axonal Guidance, Intracellular Trafficking, and Innate Immunity\u201d with Dr. Kristopher Schmidt,<\/strong> associate professor of biology at Eastern Mennonite University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wednesday, Feb. 8, 4 p.m. \u2014 \u201cPhycosphere Interactions: Novel Insights into Harmful Algal Bloom Dynamics\u201d with Dr. Morgan Steffen<\/strong> and Dr. Louie Wurch<\/strong>, associate professors of biology at James Madison University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wednesday, March 1, 4 p.m. \u2014 \u201cIf You Say it Loud Enough: Exploring Emotional Arousal in Learning and Communication\u201d with Dr. Allison Wilck<\/strong>, associate professor and program director of psychology at EMU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wednesday, March 22, 4 p.m. \u2014 \u201cPediatric Behavioral Health: Strategy to Improve Access and Care\u201d with Dr. Anne Brenneman<\/strong>, director of the University Health Center at James Madison University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lectures are made possible by the sponsorship of the Daniel B. Suter Endowment in Biology and the co-sponsorship of supporting programs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Named in honor of long-time EMU biology professor, Daniel B. Suter<\/strong> (1920-2006), the Endowment in Biology was established in 1986 through the generous donations of alumni and friends and currently consists of over $1 million of invested funds. EMU hopes to double the Suter Endowment in order to more adequately support distinguished faculty and to increase scholarship aid to deserving students.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
