Eastern Mennonite University\u2019s Bachelor of Science degree program in engineering has been accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, the global accreditor of college and university programs in applied and natural science, computing, engineering, and engineering technology. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
ABET accreditation assures that programs meet standards to produce graduates ready to enter critical technical fields that are leading the way in innovation and emerging technologies, and anticipating the welfare and safety needs of the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis is a significant milestone of achievement in the development of our relatively young engineering program,\u201d said Professor Tara Kishbaugh<\/strong>, dean of EMU\u2019s School of Sciences, Engineering, Arts and Nursing. \u201cAs the ABET accreditation process emphasizes continual improvement, it will continue to strengthen our program and our students\u2019 preparation. With the accreditation, students will be even more confident in the pursuit of their vocation.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n Sought worldwide, ABET\u2019s voluntary peer-review process is highly respected because it adds critical value to academic programs in the technical disciplines, where quality, precision and safety are of the utmost importance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Developed by technical professionals from ABET\u2019s member societies, ABET criteria focus on what students experience and learn. ABET accreditation reviews look at program curricula, faculty, facilities, and institutional support and are conducted by teams of highly skilled professionals from industry, academia and government, with expertise in the ABET disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n ABET is a nonprofit, non-governmental organization with ISO 9001:2015 certification.
