The Rev. Veva Mumaw <\/strong>will be the new campus pastor at Eastern Mennonite Seminary. She replaces The Rev. Dr. Kevin Clark<\/strong>, assistant professor, who has served in the role since August 2008. Clark will stay on the seminary faculty for the 2022-23 academic year, teaching formation courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cKevin has walked with many, many seminary students during his tenure as pastor, giving wise counsel and spiritual direction to them as they navigate the sometimes turbulent waters of seminary study, family and work issues, and spiritual growth,\u201d said Sue Cockley<\/strong>, dean of EMU’s School of Theology, Humanities and Performing Arts. \u201cHe has also served the seminary through his many relationships with seminary faculty and staff, offering them the same listening ear and discerning support. We wish him well and welcome Veva.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mumaw is current director of student services at the seminary, where she has worked in several different roles since July 2017. She serves as an elder on the pastoral team at Community Mennonite Church in Harrisonburg. She formerly pastored at Olive Mennonite Church in Elkhart, Indiana. She is ordained in MCUSA and is currently studying spiritual direction at the Parish Resource Center in Pennsylvania.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mumaw will provide students with pastor care, spiritual direction and coaching beyond their academic advising needs. She will advise on the Seminary Community Council, serve on the university\u2019s Faith and Spiritual Life Committee, and collaborate with the seminary chapel leader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
