EMU ranked 299 out of 801 institutions nationally, rising 53 spots over its 2018 ranking. It was also ranked 66th out of 209 institutions in the South region.<br \/><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The WSJ\/THE methodology uses 15 individual performance metrics, grouped in four pillars: resources, engagement, outcomes and environment. Of all the pillars, outcomes is weighted the highest at 40 percent, emphasizing a return on investment from attending a school and the success of students after graduation. The indicators are selected to answer \u201cquestions that matter the most when choosing a university.\u201d<br \/><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/43\/2019\/09\/EMU-awards-US-News-2020.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-43261\" width=\"242\" height=\"164\" srcset=\"https:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/43\/2019\/09\/EMU-awards-US-News-2020.png 500w, https:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/43\/2019\/09\/EMU-awards-US-News-2020-300x202.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 242px) 100vw, 242px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>In the 2020 rankings seasons, EMU also earned high marks from <a href=\"https:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/news\/2019\/emu-ranked-among-best-of-the-south-in-u-s-news-and-world-report\/\">U.S. News and World Report <\/a>among other regional universities in the South as a Best Value School, among the Top Performers on Social Mobility, and a ranking as a Least Debt Class of 2017 University.<br \/><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, the Sierra Club listed EMU as a <a href=\"https:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/news\/2019\/emu-ranked-among-sierra-clubs-cool-schools\/\">\u201cCool School\u201d<\/a> for its dedication to sustainability and environmentalism.&nbsp;<br \/><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/43\/2019\/09\/EMU-awards-Sierra-2019.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-43258\" width=\"247\" height=\"166\" srcset=\"https:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/43\/2019\/09\/EMU-awards-Sierra-2019.png 500w, https:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/43\/2019\/09\/EMU-awards-Sierra-2019-300x202.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 247px) 100vw, 247px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Other recognitions include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>2019 <\/strong><strong><em>Washington Monthly <\/em><\/strong><strong>Master\u2019s University Rankings<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>2018 Forbes \u201cGrateful Grads\u201d Index<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>2018 Forbes Best Return on Investment (ROI) University<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>2018 Princeton Review Green College Rankings&nbsp;<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>2018 Best Colleges for Your Money\/TIME&nbsp;<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Eastern Mennonite University landed in two rankings reported by this month by The Wall Street Journal\/Times Higher Education.
