The options also include those that involve attorneys without third parties such as collaborative practice and strategic negotiation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With less than 2% of all civil cases being resolved through a jury trial, mediators and lawyers should understand all of the options available to litigants to help them determine the best process for their case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ms. Waugh, an attorney licensed in DC, Virginia and West Virginia, graduated from law school in 1987. After spending more than a decade litigating cases in her work as an assistant prosecutor and a legal services attorney, Waugh earned a MA in conflict transformation at Eastern Mennonite University&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.emu.edu\/cjp\">Center for Justice and Peacebuilding<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She has since become certified by the Supreme Court of Virginia to accept court referred cases in JDR and GDC courts and by the West Virginia Supreme Court to accept matters in Family Court. She is listed with the West Virginia State Bar as a mediator accepting civil cases.
