Damon Frazier (Waynesboro, Va.\/Wilson Memorial) has been named to the All-State First Team by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID).<\/p>\n
In two years at Eastern Mennonite University, Frazier has been named All-State both times, including a spot on the Second Team last year. He is also a two-time All-ODAC First Team honoree.<\/p>\n
Frazier, who was EMU’s top pitcher again this year while also spending time at first base and shortstop, landed to the utility position on the All-State First Team. He controlled the No. 3 spot in the batting order, hitting .312 with 30 RBIs and 23 runs scored. Frazier had team highs with his 30 RBIs, 49 hits, 11 doubles, seven home runs and .516 slugging percentage. He was second for the Royals with his .312 batting clip, 23 runs, 14 walks and six stolen bases.<\/p>\n
As a pitcher, the right hander finished with a record of 2-4 with a 5.12 ERA, striking out 41 batters in a team-high 65.0 innings. In the field, Frazier racked up 123 putouts with a .966 fielding percentage.<\/p>\n
The Old Dominion Athletic Conference also voted him as the Scholar-Athlete of the Year for baseball.<\/p>\n
Playing with Frazier as the lone healthy returning field player from 2017, the Royals finished this spring with a record of 15-24. They were 6-14 in ODAC play, being eliminated from postseason contention with a loss in their final game of the regular season.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
