During its fall concert, the Eastern Mennonite University Jazz Ensemble<\/a> will play swing, up-tempo funk, two Benny Carter pieces and more.<\/p>\n

The 16-member ensemble under the direction of Robert Curry<\/a> will take the stage in Lehman Auditorium at 7:30 pm on Thursday, Nov. 30. The concert is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n

Of its members, four are music majors \u2014 but that hasn\u2019t kept them all from enjoying \u201cAmerica\u2019s only art form,\u201d said Curry.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a thrill to work with such willing performers who want to expand their knowledge and performing ability,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The concert\u00a0 \u2014 featuring Brooke Bevington, a junior social work major from Grottoes, Virginia \u2014 will be the culmination of a busy semester. The ensemble performed for multiple campus and Homecoming and Family Weekend events.<\/p>\n
