The EMU sophomore broke a program record in one of her two races <span class=\"aBn\"><span class=\"aQJ\">on Saturday<\/span><\/span> to earn her first-ever weekly ODAC award.<\/p>\n<p>Miller put together a strong showing in a pair of sprints at the VertKlasse Meeting, which features a field largely comprised of NCAA Division I and II athletes. Miller broke a 17-year old Eastern Mennonite record in the 100m dash as she finished 10th overall and first among Division III competitors with a new ODAC-best time of 12.20 seconds. She narrowly sliced the record of 12.21 set by <strong>Lorenda Abbott<\/strong> in 2000. Miller is now ranked No. 8 in Division III in the event.<\/p>\n<p>She also finished 33rd overall and second D-III in the 200m dash with a time of :25.93 seconds, which is short of her season-best :25.75 time that currently ranks second in the conference.<\/p>\n<p>EMU junior <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/emuroyals.com\/sports\/mtrack\/2016-17\/bios\/faint_connor_b7ns\" target=\"_blank\">Connor Faint<\/a><\/strong> (Winchester, Va.\/Millbrook) is in top form right now, bettering his personal best in the 400m hurdles for the third straight week. As a result, Faint was named the ODAC Athlete of the Week for the second time during the stretch.<\/p>\n<p>Faint continued his progression through the early outdoor track season at the VertKlasse Meeting at High Point University <span class=\"aBn\"><span class=\"aQJ\">on Saturday<\/span><\/span>. In an event that was largely populated by NCAA Division I and II athletes, Faint won the 400m hurdles with a new ODAC-best time of 52.33 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>That time broke a 35-year-old EMU record, eclipsing the 52.76 time posted by <strong>Burrell Fisher<\/strong> in 1982. Faint&#8217;s time is currently ranked second in NCAA Division III.<\/p>\n<p>Eastern Mennonite&#8217;s men and women are in Lynchburg, Va., <span class=\"aBn\"><span class=\"aQJ\">this Saturday<\/span><\/span> for the Liberty Collegiate Invite.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sprinter Tajah Miller\u00a0(Waynesboro, Va.\/Waynesboro) has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week for women&#8217;s track.
