William Ragland<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0(North Chesterfield, Va.\/Thomas Dale) was simply incredible in EMU’s 3-0 week, and today the men’s volleyball player was named the Continental Volleyball Conference Player of the Week.<\/p>\n

Over the Royals’ three wins last weekend, Ragland averaged 3.82 kills with a .578 attack percentage on 64 swings. He had double digit kills and hit at least .500 in all three of the matches, highlighted by 16 kills and a .714 hitting mark in the win over Rutgers-Newark. Ragland added four aces in that contest, putting him second in the CVC with 23 aces on the year.<\/p>\n

Playing both middle and outside, the junior had 14 kills in a CVC win over Cairn and 12 against Bard. Ragland added 12 digs and four blocks over the weekend.<\/p>\n

This is the second CVC Player of the Week award for the Royals, with freshman Josh Elmore<\/a><\/strong> (Chester, Va.\/Matoaca) winning it in late January.<\/p>\n

At 12-4 overall and 5-0 in the conference, Eastern Mennonite has already equaled the program’s most CVC wins in the six years of the league’s history.<\/p>\n

The Royals play at Arcadia on Friday, before a big tri-match on Saturday in Arlington, Va. EMU plays Marymount at noon that day and the No. 15 Saints are tied for second in the CVC at 5-1.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
