EMU\u2019s student-athletes continue to out-do themselves.\u00a0 The Royals set a new high for student-athletes named to the annual Old Dominion Athletic Conference All-Academic Team, putting 104 on the team, showing their fourth straight year with an increase in honorees.<\/p>\n

Eastern Mennonite University broke 100 all-academic athletes for the first time in their history, while eclipsing last year\u2019s record of 96.\u00a0 There has been a dramatic rise in honorees for EMU recently, with this year\u2019s 104 nearly doubling the total from four years ago \u2013 53 in 2010-11.<\/p>\n

All of EMU\u2019s ODAC-sponsored sports were represented on the All-Academic Team.\u00a0 Men\u2019s volleyball competes in the Continental Volleyball Conference which fields its own academic team<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The ODAC All-Academic Team eclipsed 1,000 student-athletes for the ninth consecutive year and set a new record for conference honorees for the sixth year in a row.\u00a0 With representatives from each of the 17 ODAC institutions (including Catholic University for football only and Greensboro College and Notre Dame of Maryland University for swimming only), 1,800 student-athletes earned recognition on the 2013-14 ODAC All-Academic Team.\u00a0 That total was a full 200 more than last year\u2019s 1,600.<\/p>\n

Eligibility for the ODAC All-Academic Team is open to any student-athlete that competes in a conference-sponsored sport, regardless of academic class.\u00a0 He or she must achieve at least a 3.25 grade point average for the year to be considered for an ODAC All-Academic Award.<\/p>\n

Washington and Lee University placed the most student-athletes on the list with 320 individuals on the academic team. \u00a0In total, 10 ODAC-member schools eclipsed 100 honorees. \u00a0Behind W&L, the other nine school\u2019s ranged between EMU\u2019s 104 and Bridgewater\u2019s 159.<\/p>\n
