{"id":1925,"date":"2009-04-14T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2009-04-14T04:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.emu.edu\/blog\/news\/?p=1925"},"modified":"2009-04-14T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2009-04-14T04:00:00","slug":"biology-and-chemistry-students-to-report-research-findings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/news\/2009\/biology-and-chemistry-students-to-report-research-findings\/","title":{"rendered":"Biology and chemistry students to report research findings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nine EMU biology and chemistry majors will present findings from their research projects at the final <a href=\"\/biology\/seminar\/\">Suter Science Seminar<\/a> of the school year, 4 p.m. Friday, Apr. 17, in room 104 of the Suter Science Center. <\/p>\n<p> The projects to be discussed are: &#8220;electrophysiology of lutamate receptors,&#8221; <a href=\"\/personnel\/people\/show\/gh497?ssi=biology\">Dr. Greta Ann Herin<\/a>, mentor; &#8220;chemoattractants of cucumber beetles,&#8221; <a href=\"\/personnel\/people\/show\/ms826?ssi=chemistry\">Dr. Matthew Siderhurst<\/a>, mentor; and &#8220;neonatal exposure to exogenous estrogens alter mouse reproductive development and function,&#8221; <a href=\"\/personnel\/people\/show\/millerrj?ssi=biology\">Dr. Roman Miller<\/a>, mentor. <\/p>\n<p> For most of the participating students, these research presentations culminate a year of research effort in working alongside EMU professors. <\/p>\n<p> Admission to the seminar is free.
