USTFCCCA names EMU women as All-Academic Team

Eastern Mennonite University’s track & field women have been named as an All-Academic Team by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

In order to be named USTFCCA All-Academic, a team must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.10 for year. EMU’s women had a GPA of 3.16.

The Royals were one of 291 men’s and women’s teams in D-III to earn an All-Academic Team recognition. This was the first time since 2015 that the women’s team earned the distinction.

Despite being hampered by injuries this spring, the EMU track & field women finished sixth at the ODAC Outdoor Championships, including a handful of All-ODAC honors. Distance runner Michaela Mast (Broadway, Va./Eastern Mennonite) capped the team’s individual awards earlier this summer by being named Google Cloud Academic All-America Second Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
