Even though her senior year is now completed, Vanessa Landis (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) has picked up another award.

The field hockey player was recently voted to the Capital One Academic All-America District 3 First Team.

Landis was the only ODAC player named to the ten-person First Team.

A defender for Eastern Mennonite, Landis started all 73 games in her four-year career and boasts a 3.91 GPA with her biology major.

This fall, she helped anchor a defense which was third in ODAC play with just 2.0 goals per game.

Landis is a member of the ODAC All-Academic Team and was also named All-ODAC First Team as a senior and VaSID All-State Second Team.

The Lady Royals finished the 2010 season with a record of 10-9, losing to eventual champion Lynchburg in the ODAC Tournament.
