{"id":285,"date":"2009-05-12T15:56:13","date_gmt":"2009-05-12T19:56:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/emu.edu\/blog\/crosscultural\/?p=285"},"modified":"2009-05-14T11:46:13","modified_gmt":"2009-05-14T15:46:13","slug":"nigeria-the-first-week-in-jos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/intercultural\/2009\/05\/12\/nigeria-the-first-week-in-jos\/","title":{"rendered":"Nigeria &#8211; the first week in Jos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Greetings from Nigeria!<br \/>\nFrom the moment we arrived in Abuja, Nigeria we have been flooded with the kindness of Nigerians.\u00a0 Our safety is a high importance to the city of Jos and we all are feeling incredibly safe and protected.\u00a0 Everyone is having great, eye-opening experiences with our host families and are treated as if we are permanent members.<\/p>\n<p>Here in Jos, we have visited the chaos of the market, with many vendors, colors, animals, fabrics, and goods.\u00a0 We have also been given tours of MCC Nigeria and Vom Christian Hospital as well as experiencing a Nigerian church service where we were asked to perform our musical talents.<\/p>\n<p>This coming week, we are planning on spending our time at Faith Alive Clinic and relaxing this weekend at Miango Retreat Center.\u00a0 As we are forming new relationships with our host families and fellow group members, we ask for your prayers for our continued health and safety.<\/p>\n<p>-Ashleigh Tolliver and Becca Snyder<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Greetings from Nigeria!
