Cross-cultural experiences take place in May and last three weeks, including orientation and debriefing sessions before and after the experience. Domestic and international locations will be available to students. Recent cross-cultural experiences include domestic trips to Appalachia (Kentucky) while international travel has included Nicaragua, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Tanzania, and Panama.

Students have the opportunity to observe the delivery of health care and education in under served populations. This life-changing encounter leaves students with a broader knowledge of the challenges many face in seeking quality health care, and how providers meet the needs of those people.
