Written by Michael Bodner (‘14), this play is based on the stories of people whose lives have been affected by cancer. Play action centers around Tobias Troope, a 17-year-old who is diagnosed with Grade Three Anaplastic Astrocytoma growing in his temporal lobe. Over the next few months of his life Tobias is periodically visited by a mysterious being named Mr. Crowley. Together they begin to explore the nature of suffering, loss, death, and hope.

This Laboratory Production contains mature subject matter, including drug & alcohol use and strong language.

Performances of The Crowleys of Tobias are scheduled in EMU’s Lee Eshleman Studio Theater, 1307 Park Road, December 5 and 6 at 7:30 pm and Saturday, Dec. 7 at 3 and 9 pm. Tickets are $5 for general admission seating or $2 for EMU students and are available by cash or check at the door.
