STAR: The Unfolding Story, 2001-’11

9/11 Commemorative Edition

How does one commemorate 9/11 in a way that acknowledges the lives lost ten years ago as the smoke rose against a balmy September sky? How does one commemorate in a way that acknowledges the tens of thousands who have died around the world since that day from the aftershocks of 9/11?

One of the ways the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding (CJP) at Eastern Mennonite University (EMU) has chosen to remember is to tell the story of STAR: Strategies for Trauma Awareness and Resilience. The healing ripples of this training program, born from the ashes of 9/11, are also reaching around the world. STAR alumni have shared what they learned wherever they live. STAR trainings continue at EMU, throughout the US and beyond our borders. That story is told in STAR: The Unfolding Story, 2001-’11.
