Naoko Kamioka is Senior Technical Advisor for Education at Catholic Relief Services (CRS) headquarters. She provides strategic leadership to strengthen technical expertise and knowledge-sharing particularly related to CRS education core principals – improving quality of education, enhancing access to and equity in education among the underserved children, and transformational community engagement. Naoko has 25-year experience in designing, implementing and monitoring overseas projects and conducting research in the areas of basic education increasingly related to child literacy development and education in emergencies and conflict. She has an extensive experience and interest dealing with intersection with education and protection through education programs targeted to working children, girls, ethnic minorities and other underserved children.
She has a wide array of working experiences with U.S. government agencies (USAID, U.S. Department of Labor), World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), International NGOs, and the Japanese government agencies. She holds master’s degree in international educational development from Teachers College, Columbia University. She is fluent in English, Spanish and Japanese.
