Marinetta Cannito Hjort
Marinetta Cannito Hjort is a conflict transformation, restorative justice, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) expert with over 10 years of experience in trainings, facilitations, and education initiatives in the US and internationally, including seven years assisting USAID-funded projects in areas of crime prevention and recovery. Ms. Cannito Hjort is the founder and president of Transforming Conflicts, Restoring Justice, LLC, dedicated to fostering a sustainable culture of peace and social justice globally. She has worked in Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Haiti, Liberia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Italy, Switzerland, and the U.S. She helped launch, as a Commissioner, the Truth Commission on Conscience in War (New York, NY, and Washington, DC, 2010). Ms. Hjort holds an MA in conflict transformation from Eastern Mennonite University’s Center for Justice and Peacebuilding.
