Dr. Cherée Hammond is an assistant professor in the Masters in Counseling program at Eastern Mennonite University. Her counseling experience includes work with children and adolescents and their families, with an emphasis on children with disabilities. Dr. Hammond’s counseling, teaching and research interests include multi-cultural intervention, contemplative psychotherapy, and supervision practices. She is a long-time meditation practitioner and has recently begun research into meditation, mindfulness, and the therapeutic relationship. Before working at EMU, Dr. Hammond served as a graduate adjunct instructor at James Madison University’s Counseling Psychology program. Dr. Hammond has a Ph.D. in counselor education and supervision from the University of Virginia and an MA and Ed.S. in counseling psychology from James Madison University.
