A native of Harrisonburg, Annie Barnes grew up in the musical world of the Shenandoah Valley Children’s Choir, EMU preparatory program, and school and community choirs. She took that experience and began studying vocal performance at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. In 2005, she returned to the valley to study speech pathology at James Madison University. She is currently the Arts & Education Manager at the Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community.
Annie sings in the Rocktown Consort, an a cappella choral ensemble of local music educators and musicians. She actively works with HARTS (Harrisonburg and Rockingham Thermal Shelter) and enjoys being involved on the Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival Board.
