Why I came to EMU
Originally from Harrisonburg, I swore I would never go to EMU because I thought I knew everything about it. After beginning at a large public university, I realized I wanted an academic setting that provided the flexibility and support formed by close relationships with professors and unique program opportunities. EMU far surpassed the ideals of what I thought was possible to experience in college, and I have incredible memories, friendships, and a great professional network thanks to my time here.
Favorite things to do in Harrisonburg and surrounding areas
First and foremost, I love getting outdoors. Whether it’s hiking and running around the Massanutten mountain ridge, tubing down the Shenandoah, or rock climbing, Harrisonburg has it all. When I’m not outside, downtown Harrisonburg is an awesome place to get almost any variety of food you can think of, a cool farmers market, and a great local music scene. Washington D.C., Charlottesville, and Richmond are close enough for day trips if I feel the need to get out of town.

What some of my friends are up to at the moment
Some friends are working for companies such as Rosetta Stone and Vistashare, and tons of them are now teachers and nurses around the country or in graduate programs and medical school. Some others are working and doing service programs all around the globe thanks to the connections provided at EMU.
Is there anything else you should know about me
I’m a dog person, I drink my coffee without cream or sugar, and I’ve been a Green Bay Packers fan since I first began talking, despite never having lived near Wisconsin.
