Creating a New Webpage for Your Club
Clubs are required to have a web presence. SGA Vice President for Marketing will help clubs create a basic webpage using a standard template that conforms with EMU’s web publishing guidelines. If a club would like a more customized look, contact the SGA Vice President for Marketing to arrange for a meeting to discuss your design plans. Email with “Custom Webpage – VP for Marketing” in the subject line. See these examples of custom webpages.
Below is an explanation of the template parts.
1. Header Image
The image at the top of the page may be changed. If no image is provided, an EMU default header image will be used. The dimensions for this picture must be 960px by 240px.
Below are the types of titles that may be used.
3. About Us
Earthkeepers is a student group at EMU focused on acting in and around the EMU community to encourage, simplify and implement environmentally-friendly practices such as recycling, composting and reducing waste.
Peace Fellowship is a student organization that organizes campus-wide activities, provides regular space for discussions, and invites special speakers to spark meaningful dialogue.
4. What We Do (or a mission statement)
Over the years, Earthkeepers has done a lot. In the last few years, we’ve started composting and recycling programs on campus using student volunteer help, organized hiking trips, field trips, panel discussions with guest speakers, and an annual week-long event called “Food and Farming Week.” During this week, students are able to learn about and participate in farming practices and food issues that are important today.
Each year we host a sustainability mini-grant competition, with the support of the Creation Care Council and the campus QEP. Other activities include:
- Pumpkin carving
- Leaf raking
- Christmas tree lighting
- Tri-weekly composting
- Chicken care
5. Meeting Time and Location
6. Contact Information
Consider listing student contacts (just names; email addresses and phone numbers will never be published on the website) so that folks at EMU can get in touch with your club if need be.
