International Student Services
In addition to teaching courses in the Intensive English Program, Micah Shristi provides services for international students in his role as International Student Advisor. He served in Nepal with Mennonite Central Committee (2008-20012) and in Colombia with Mennonite Mission Network (2003-2005). His ESL teaching experience includes teaching positions in Kathmandu, Nepal; Bogotá, Colombia and Washington DC. Micah graduated from EMU in 2000 with a degree in English and he went on to complete a masters in Industrial Technology at Appalachian State University.
Jered Lyons teaches a section of the Speaking, Listening, & Critical Thinking course in the Intensive English Program. In 2008 he graduated from Eastern Mennonite University with a degree in Communications. After graduating he spent two years teaching English in South Korea. He also received a master’s degree in Post-Secondary Education from Salisbury University in 2013. Aside from instructing in the IEP Department he serves as a Multicultural Student Advisor, Assistant Fitness Coordinator, and Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at EMU. He enjoys traveling and learning about different cultures while sharing his own. He also enjoys conversing with friends and family while cooking and eating.
