Ted Erikson has been named the new women’s soccer coach. Erikson, a 2005 EMU graduate and longtime men’s soccer assistant coach, will replace the outgoing Sue Kolb. Erikson has a long history with EMU soccer. While at EMU, he was a four year starting defender and played on the Royals team which set the record for the least goals allowed in a season.
In addition, Erikson was selected as second team all ODAC and team captain during his senior year. Since graduation, Erickson served as head coach of the EMHS men’s soccer team since 2006. As coach, Erikson has earned a record of 82- 25-8. He has also been honored as conference coach of the year twice and won a region three championship. The hire was announced to the student body by Athletic Director Dave King in a campus-wide email on Wednesday afternoon.
