The Royals finished their season with a win against the Marymount Saints on Wednesday night. Marymount University, based in Arlington Virginia, had a losing record this year of 8-16 before facing EMU. The EMU volleyball team finished the year with a 12-14 record, winning two games in conference.
After battling back and forth closely in the first set, the Royals won the first set 25-20. They took the second set in another close contest.
The Royas went on to cruise to a third set win, shutting down the marymount attack and winning by 10 points. First-year Scott Brigham dominated the net, recording 10 kills in the winning effort.
The game capped the season for EMU’s first-year head coach Dominick Porter.
In his first season, Porter managed to equal the conference win total of last years team. While falling two wins short of the overall win total of last year’s team.
