Suprise!

Hey everyone!  I know it’s been a while since I last posted, but life has been absolutely crazy since we got back from spring break.  Saturday provided a little break though because it was my birthday, and I refused to do anything work-like.  This is kinda how the day unfolded:  Well, I guess in order to truly start at the beginning I must say that my Aunt and Uncle Dawn and Mike were visiting my cousin from Friday to Saturday, and Friday night I went out to dinner with them; we went to Taste of Thai, and it was so great! (Thanks again Mike and Dawn).  After that we went back to the Martins for some Jewish apple cake and Klines ice cream.  My parents knew that they were coming down, and they obviously knew it was my birthday, and so when Mike and Dawn didn’t even give me so much as a card from my parents, I was a little surprised, but I figured ‘well, maybe Mike and Dawn were just waiting to give it to me on Saturday, my actual birthday.  Then Saturday afternoon, I saw Mike and Dawn again, and although they wished me a very Happy Birthday, and gave me plenty of hugs, there was still nothing from my parents.  Now, I wasn’t that disappointed, as I am planning on being home for Easter, and I had talked to my mom Saturday morning, and she mentioned a birthday present that I would probably be getting then, and something about a card in the mail.  And so I pretty much forgot about it after that.  Then in the evening after dinner a bunch of my friends and I went to the game room to play around-the-world ping-pong, pool scum, and foosball.  Somewhere along the way my friends Julia and Charise disappeared to the bathroom and never came back.  After a while I started getting bored and my friend Laura asked me if I wanted to go on a walk and see if we could find anything better to do. Haha.  So we meandered around, stopped to talk to some people, but there was pretty much NO ONE down in the woods, so we headed toward Northlawn.  This whole time we were talking, and she kept looking at her phone, and although I did think it was kinda rude that she wasn’t really paying that much attention to the conversation, I didn’t think that much of it.  Anyway, Instead of going into Northlawn, Laura kinda walked toward the Den, and I was just thinking, ‘Oh OK, I guess we can go over here, maybe we will go to Roselawn, or common grounds, or something’ but after entering the commons, instead of going down to common grounds, she went toward the den.  Through the window I could see a few of our other friends, and I thought they were probably just passing through on their way back from the game room, after all, we hadn’t been gone that long.  It still didn’t hit me until right before she opened the door for me, (EVERYTHING came together in my mind, and I realized that they had gotten me!) and ALL of my friends were standing there, and yelled SUPRISE!!!  Hahahaha.  I laughed and blushed, then (After they finally managed to light the candles) they sang happy birthday, I blew out the candles, and they started cutting the cake.  Then I asked Julia who had made the cake, and she said my mom did.  I was like ‘wait, what??’  Haha, as it turns out, my mom sent the fixings for a party along with my Aunt and Uncle, and my cousin Emily hand delivered it to Julia.  The party bag included a cake, candles, matches, chips and salsa, pretzels, soda, and a present!  Hahaha.  Then Julia and a few others planned the whole thing.  I guess all their time paid off because I was sooooo surprised!  I had absolutely no idea!!!  Anyway…it was a wonderful birthday!
