Pastor and administrator
Pastor John is the General Secretary of the Lutheran Church of Rwanda. He also works with his wife Robin Strickler, principal of the Rwanda Secondary School.
John was born in Rwanda and raised in a refugee camp in Tanzania. In 1995, he was one of five Lutheran pastors who left their Tanzanian homes at the orders of government and went with their congregations to Rwanda to begin a new life.
While a student at CJP, John met and married his wife, Robin, at the Lutheran Church in Harrisonburg. They immediately began research on the possibility of a secondary school in Rwanda, and in January 2006, they returned to Rwanda to begin implementing their plan for community development and to fulfill his leadership role in the LCR.
