PhD Candidate

Jodi is a third year PhD candidate in Peace and Conflict Studies at the Mauro Centre for Peace and Justice at the University of Manitoba. The title of her dissertation research is “Contentious Activism: Peacebuilding and Intersectional Identities in the Transnational Border Justice Movement,” focusing on the social movement in Arizona and Sonora.

From 2004-’08, as an Associate for Migration and Peacebuilding, Jodi worked with the Centro de Paz de Ambos Nogales (Peace Center for Nogales, Arizona and Sonora) as part of her assignment with Mennonite Central Committee West Coast on the U.S./Mexico border. She divided her time between migration and peacebuilding work for MCC West Coast and local conflict resolution work at the Zuni Avenue Peace Center.
