Coming off an impressive sweep of Guilford, the Lady Royals softball team returned to the field a day later to take on the ODAC preseason favorite Lynchburg College. The Eastern Mennonite women continued their hot play, sweeping the Hornets and extending their winning streak to eight straight.

The Runnin Royals got the privilege of hosting their first ever NCAA National Championship game in Yoder Arena. The defensive-minded Colonels of Centre College took the Runnin out of the Royals, but the Eastern Mennonite men found a way to grind out the win, 63-53, to advance to Saturday’s second round.

For the first time in school history, the men’s basketball team received a bid to play in the NCAA D-III National Tournament. Even better, the Runnin Royals will also host a pod of games the first weekend, giving fans another chance to see the men play in Harrisonburg.
